The Big Bang Rythm Project
Produced by Cultural Arts Collective- The Riverbeats Live evening kicks off with a procession of local percussionists playing musical harmonies as they walk to the banks of the Parramatta River. The Rhythms are composed by Professor Michael Atherton and Richard Petkovic including performers from the Pacific Islander, Arabic and Uruguayan communities of Western Sydney as well participants from Granville South High School and Telopea Primary School.
Synergy Percussion/Moth
Moth, an initiative of critically acclaimed Synergy Percussion, will then delight audiences with their rhythmic beats, as haiku poems written by national and international artists is read by local high school student Felicity Amos and projected across the water. Their interwoven harmonies will be nothing short of transporting.
The Translators
The Translators’, will then amuse and captivate with their unique sounds, combining contemporary jazz and passionate flamenco music.
Decoder Ring
Fresh off the Australian Cold Play tour, these award winning electro rock artists will perform a new incarnation of their of their recently released, and highly successful, double album. Decoder Rings’ mesmerizing beats and psychedelic electronic arrangements are to guaranteed to deliver a powerful performance.
Dale Barlow
Internationally renowned jazz saxophonist, composer, and this years Musical Director.
The Blenders
The Blenders, a collective of outstanding musicians led by internationally renowned Dale Barlow, will perform a musical fusion of contemporary jazz and world music together for the first time, balancing global harmony and irresistible cultural rhythms.
Erth Physical and VIsual Inc
Will entrance audiences with their spectacular displays of live theatre, making the impossible possible .

ALfie Coolwell- world class performer bringing his unique character to the Didge.
Aykho Akhif - brilliant percussionist and drummer extraordinaire.
Doudoumba - superb drumming outfit, featuring one of Senegal’s most respected percussionists, Malick Diop, with Philippe Lincy and Yaw Glymin.
Pandit Ramchandra Suman - master Tabla player. One of India’s most highly respected musicians.
To end this spectacular evening of world class performances, this eclectic blend of musicians will join together for a once in a lifetime collaboration. This highly anticipated finale promises to be a spectacular way to end Riverbeats Live 2009.
Riverbeats Live 2009 is an annual highlight and an event not to be missed. The action begins at 6.45pm, so bring a picnic rug and arrive early to secure your spot on the Parramatta Riverbank and avoid disappointment. Now with a floating stage, Riverbeats Live is best viewed on either side of the Riverbank between Church St and Wilde St Bridge.
