Last years Carp Fish Out was held on Parramatta River on Saturday 2 February 2008. The day began with 250 fishing enthusiasts turning out to help us remove carp from the river. Action was slow during the morning, with just a couple of our local eels being pulled from the river, but the luck changed later when Ken Ducan pulled a hefty 2.198kg carp in to take the grand prize.
Ian Keirnan from Clean Up Australia joined Parramatta Lord Mayor, Clr Paul Barber to present the prizes and spoke about the importance of healthy waterways.
Despite the weather, the day was a great success and will return again for Riverbeats in late 2008. We hope to see you there.
